AI slop is spreading across YouTube. And the company is pushing that content onto kids, including toddlers and infants. We cannot let that continue.
AI-generated content hurts children’s healthy development. Join us in demanding that YouTube stop AI slop for kids.

WHAT GOOGLE & YOUTUBE NEED TO DO:

  1. Clearly label all AI-generated content on YouTube.
  2. Prohibit AI-generated content from being hosted on YouTube Kids.
  3. Prohibit child-directed videos (“Made for Kids”) that are AI-generated from being hosted on the main YouTube platform.
  4. Prohibit algorithmic recommendations of AI-generated content to users under age 18.
  5. Implement a toggle switch in parental controls so that parents can turn off AI-generated content even if children search for it. This switch should be off by default.
  6. Halt all investment in the creation of AI-generated videos for children.

SPEAK UP FOR KIDS!

Our letter to the CEOs of YouTube and Google was signed by over 230 experts and organizations, including “The Anxious Generation” author Jonathan Haidt, pediatrician and researcher Dr. Jenny Radesky, American Federation of Teachers, and the National Black Child Development Association.
Now, make your voice heard. Sign our petition telling YouTube to stop AI slop for kids.
Pediatricians are also raising concerns about YouTube’s attention economy and its impact on young children.
